Well, auditions are over. Callbacks are over. I didn't get called back for the part I wanted, didn't even make ensemble. I was offered pit (which means I sing all of the music in the show from the orchestra pit. Initially I said 'no.' After a couple of days to cool off, I was really pissed. I went and told the director that I would sing in the pit. After all, this way all I have to do is learn music. No costumes, no blocking, no dancing. And, frankly, it takes too much energy to stay mad at people I've been friends with for almost 10 years.

Sorry to hear that you didn't get cast. That's always the hardest part of the audition process. We had a cast member walk out on us two weeks before we were to open because he didn't get the part he wanted - he strung us along until he thought it was too late and then bailed. needless to say, he hasn't been invited back. It's important not to burn those bridges and who knows? Something great might happen because of your pit work - ours is not to wonder why and all that stuff.

Ain't it the truth. My partner got the part she went for, which is totally awesome. I'm really proud of her.

At least it worked out well for your partner and I'm certain that she will rely upon you for help with the rehearsal process. Mine is always hip deep in it here, no matter what I'm doing. it's always full speed ahead.
