More Stuff
Oct. 2nd, 2008 12:01 amSo, I've just finished filling in my datebook for October. What was I thinking???? In two weeks we have the fall Band concert. The music is awesome and I have two more lessons before the concert so maybe I can figure out the Handel. : P It's the only piece I'm having lots of trouble with.
the Oakland Bay Area Community Chorus has begun rehearsals for the Christmas concert. Weeeee. Hectic but not too bad since I am, after all, a singer. But to go along with these rehearsals we have the Annual fund raising show for ACLO. Rehearsals for that started on Tuesday and the show is on November 1st. Here's the really funny part of all this: I do this every year. I think my brain turns to swiss cheese between January and August because come September I'm signed up for at least 6 or 8 performances from October on.
Please understand, I'm really not complaining. My body does now and again; after all I'm not twenty any more. It just always seems to surprise me that I do all of this performing every year and continue to ignore my body's complaints. Ahhh, but there's nothing like performing with people that feel like family year after year. What a great life. And come January, I'll miss all of this insanity until the next roound.
Did I mention I work too? Woohoo it's performance season. It may be insane but I wouldn't trade any of it for anything. If I'm a little scarce in the upcoming weeks I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth, I'm in rehearsal for something.
Peace all
